Avatar: The Last Airbender

Hooray, 50th post! I feel like I'm cheating because this is the 3rd post of today... But whatever, it appears you people aren't sick of me yet.

This will be talking about the SERIES. The movie (Both the one based on the series and the stupid blue aliens) are not going to be discussed. (Because I haven't seen the alien smurfs and I'm mad at it for stealing the name, and the one based of the series is terrible and I still want to punch the director.)

Its a anime-style cartoon. It was on Nickolodean. Hey, stop laughing! Its not a kids show! Its a FAMILY show, meaning it can be watched by a five year old and a 25 year old.

Its about a world where people can control the elements- Water, fire, earth, air. The different kinds of bending is modelled after different kinds of martial arts (Waterbending is tai chi, for example).

One person, the Avatar, has the ability to bend all four elements. When one avatar dies, a new one is born. There is only one Avatar in the world. The Avatar brings peace and balance. In this case, the Avatar is Aang, the kid with the arrow on his head. He was born an Airbender.

When Aang was twelve, he was told he was the avatar. They usually wait until the avatar is 16, but the Fire Nation was starting a war. Aang ran away (with his flying bison, Appa) and got frozen in a ball of ice.

100 years later, Katara, a waterbender, and her brother Sokka find Aang in the ice. He's still 12. While he's been gone, there has been a war. The war has destroyed all of the other airbenders, because they knew the avatar would be born into them (The Avatar cycle is Water, Earth, Fire, Air. The last avatar was fire.).

Then we get to out antagonist- Zuko. (Side note: Coolest. Name. Ever!)

He's the Fire Nation prince. He spoke out of term in a war meeting, and was punished by having to fight an Agni Kai, a firebender duel. It turned out to be his father he was dueling, and he didn't fight. His father gave him that scar and banished him. He's been trying to find the avatar for three years (he's 16), to regain his honor and be welcomed back. Oh, and he has a ponytail.

Anyway, long story short, season one is spent with Aang, Katara and Sokka trying to teach Aang waterbending, and running from Zuko. Season two is when I really love the show, because we get Toph.

Toph Bei Fong is the only daughter of the Bei Fong family, a wealthy and well known family in the Earth Kingdom. No one knows she exists. She was born blind, and has been over-protected her entire life. Once, she ran away. She found the Badger-Moles, the original earthbenders. They are blind. She learn earthbending from them, and to sense vibration and basically see with her feet. She is secretly the Blind Bandit, and she fights other earthbenders. And wins. She agrees to teach Aang earthbending. Why is she my favorite? Well, watch this.

And we also get Azula.

Zuko's sister, not banished, trying to find the Avatar for herself. She is evil and crazy and just so awesome. She also brings her friends, Mai and Ty Lee.

Mai's the goth one. I like Mai, not only because she's goth, but because she just doesn't care about capturing Aang. But Ty Lee is sooooo happy.

Season three has more complications, and it circles around three groups of people- Team Avatar, Zuko and his uncle, and Azula and her friends. Azula is trying to kill the Avatar and mess with her brother, Team Avatar is learning earthbending and helping people and just making a mess of things as usual, and Zuko is half trying to capture the Avatar and half being an angsty teen who doesn't know what to do.

And the last, season three. He's now trying to learn firebending, and finish the war. Zuko was AWESOME in this season, I won't say why, but its not because he ditched the ponytail.

You may also notice several people online talking about being in love with Zuko. This was probably from season three.

Also...
I just love Zuko and Mai together. (Not exactly a Goth couple, goth is more "I really don't care what people think of me", and I'd say Zuko is more emo.) And the uninterested-ness of Mai is so funny.

The show won an award for complex character (as well as many other awards, I assume).

GO WATCH IT NOW! Its on Netflix watch instantly if you have it, but if you don't, ask and I'll give you a link of where to watch it.

Over and out.

Random things for hair and skin from a kitchen and a really terrible title.

Bad title, but it gets the point across. Ashlee from A Mortal Doth Approach posted something similar not so long ago, right here. I shall list mine.

Coconut Oil-

I put it on my hair. Just work it into your hair, let it sit anywhere from 15 minutes to overnight, then wash it out. It may feel a bit oily after... But its more like when you use a leave-in conditioner than having unclean hair. It makes your hair really soft and shiny, and it is supposedly good for helping damaged hair and hair growing. You can also use it for skin, apparently its anti-aging and helps treat eczema (I will be testing it on my mom and brother to prove this). If you are wondering if you will smell like a coconut... Sadly (or not sadly), no. I can't smell a thing. But you can mix it with some scented oil (I used burning oil from The Body Shop, but they say a few drops mixed with something else is perfectly safe for skin) it will leave a light scent of your choice. Only use a couple drops! That stuff is strong. Oh, and the oil does NOT leave your skin greasy.

Vinegar-

I do not use this for much. But, got a sunburn? Splash some apple cider vinegar on it in the shower, it helps with the pain.

Honey-

Cover your face in honey. Let sit 10-20 minutes (depends on how long you can stand a sticky face). It softens and cleans.

Yogurt-

This has two uses- For skin, just cover your face in it and let it dry a bit (about 15 minutes). It makes your skin feel sooooo hydrated and nice. For hair, either use it alone or mix it with olive (or coconut) oil and let sit 20 minutes. Shiny and healthy hair. Make sure it is PLAIN. I don't use this often, because my skin isn't very dry and it makes it a bit too oily after a while. Better for dryer skin.

Green Tea-

Come on, you're a goth, you should have some tea! Green tea is really good for skin. Notice how its popping up in skin care products everywhere? The problem with those is it doesn't contain a lot of tea, making it useless. Instead of spending extra money on those, brew some green tea, let it cool and put in a spray bottle. (Don't be impatient and fill a plastic spray bottle with hot tea, that melts the bottle. I would know.) Spray it on your face. Hooray, you now have a new toner! If you use frequently (more than once a day), make sure its not a very strong brew, or it might stain your face a bit (just looks like a bit of a natural tan, but that's more horrible than what you might have been thinking.)

There's a lot of other things from your kitchen you can use for skin or hair, but I can't name them all. And I haven't tried them all. (I heard cocoa powder is good for fake tans, but what use is that?)

The Jane Brooks Project

I assume you know I'm a huge fan of Emilie Autumn. I mention her in like every other post. Well, "Jane Brooks" is an alter ego of hers. She has some AMAZING songs for the project. I don't really know much about it, but... Here's the link to them!

And one that sounds sort of similar...

Faces Like Mine

Now, before you get uninterested, you might want to find out where to get a free download (actually, the only place I found where you could download it- Its not released on a CD or EP). If you do, click HERE.

Also, I will probably be posting a few more posts today.

Cannot resist posting these videos

Just watch them.

And since I'm in the middle of procrastinating, I thought I would add dialogue.

Enjoy the funny videos and my... Not so funny scripts for them. I don't even remember what I'm putting off doing, but maybe I'll remember after I watch some Doctor Who. Ya know, maybe.

Top ten reasons why I want summer to end.

Sorry for lack of actual posts. My brain is malfunctioning at the moment. But since I don't know what else to post, here are my top 10 reasons why summer should end!

1. Too hot.
2. I have a *gasp* TAN! That big hot yellow thing in the sky needs to stop being so close to my current planet.
3. ITS SO BORING! Sure, its great if you are dreading going back to school and have friends nearby (or a pool), but I'm waiting for school to start so I can have something to do (instead of letting my mind drift off to Narnia).
4. Autumn is prettier. The leaves!
5. People actually wear clothing in other seasons!
6. Cardigans.
7. Scarves.
8. BOOTS.
9. Mainstream stores finally carry better clothing, often times velvet or lace.
10. No more annoyingly loud music or parties from my brothers' room at 4 AM!

What are your reasons for wanting summer to end? (Or, why you are dreading the fall, if you're crazy enough to like summer)

The only thing I'm not really happy about is having to read Treasure Island. Its sooooooooo big and confusing! (Pirate terms make no sense to me.) My mom actually offered to read it and summarize it for me so I could write my paper- GASP!! Cheating in school before it even starts?!?! I'm determined not to cheat, and definitely not on the first assignment. What if they ask me about a certain part? What if someone else who read the book tries to talk about it with me? What if they find me out, and I get a DETENTION?! What if, because of that, I NEVER get a job ever in my entire life, all because I didn't read Treasure Island?

/End jumping to worst possible conclusion.

But, because it is homework and I need to do it, I set this as my computer background to motivate me:

Darren <3 (Its pronounced "Less Than Three" if you were wondering.)

Random note time:

I need to make a post of Avatar: The Last Airbender (it even has a goth in it!)

Ya know my trip to Misery Missouri later this month? Yeah, still not done complaining about it... But one of the girls I'm expected to like because her grandma is a friend of my mom likes AVPM and Darren Criss and Chris Colfer, so I might actually have some fun. Maybe. (I know, very optimistic.)

I still need to clean my room. Like half the things I'll want to pack are buried under a pile of unidentified crap that seems to either be a pile of garbage, clothing and random knick knacks, or radioactive slime. We'll see later.

Thanks... I think...

Today, at the grocery store, some random guy was passing, and he said to me "You smell nice."

That was weird.

I was not wearing any perfume, so I just smelled normal. Maybe a bit like my dogs. It was some random 20-something dude. He walked away before I could respond but... What? Should I feel complimented?

Another reason to confuse me- He sounded (and looked) confused when he said it. Like "Wow, she smells nice, thats shocking!"

So I am quite confused. Its like that time in 6th grade when someone just randomly said to me "So you're the fancy dresser!" (And didn't explained when I asked).

Name Change!

Yay!

The old name was getting boring... So now its Toxic Tea Party. To celebrate...

That last one? So effing epic. I want it. They have one just like it on etsy (by the same person who made it). Just type in "Pirate Tea Cup". Tell them Teresa sent you, they will have no idea who I am.

Sorry for the no actual posts lately... I think the resent heat wave has stunted my brain, my sleep problems are getting more annoying as school comes near (I woke up at 4:30 pm today and no one was shocked) and since school is coming up... I'M FREAKING OUT V DUFIJ8FIHSFVFHUIDSUFVVIDFSJAI!!!!!! Not because I think it will be "Hard" or anything, but because I have to clean my room and assemble my wardrobe in a MONTH! And I need to wake up at an unhumanly hour (as opposed to my regular unhumanly hour) because the bus comes at 6:40. And school starts an hour later. Sitting on a bus for an hour EVERY morning? Gah, WHY can't my brother have a car (and a license)?

Well, I have to go. I convinced my mom we should go out for dinner (due to the fact that we have like no food at the moment) so I have to read blogs and do my makeup. Sadly, pirate headscarf does not go with my dress :(

Aw, she's telling me to leave NOW before I can read the blogs! Grr.
